The Bouverie Centre in conjunction with the Victorian Department of Human Services - Disability Services is pleased to offer a fully-funded training package for people who work with families impacted by Acquired Brain Injury in the Loddon-Mallee and surrounding regions.
Part A: 2 day Family Sensitive Practice workshop
21st & 22nd February 2012
Part B: 4 Advanced Skills Development Groups
The training package will be facilitated by Family Therapists from the Bouverie Centre’s ABI team.

LEARNING GOALS:
Working with families impacted by ABI is fulfilling and challenging work.
Families that present to our services often face complex issues due to the
impact of the ABI.
This training will provide opportunities for high quality skill development to:
Negotiate the involvement of the family in individual client care Respond effectively to families coping with the complexities of ABI in a relative Understand and address the impact and unique needs of family members Conduct productive meetings with families Share information about ABI between the client, family members and clini-cian Support the development of innovation in Family Sensitive Practice in
rural Victoria
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Allied Heath Workers i.e.: Case Managers, Social Workers, Nurses, Medical Staff, Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, AOD & Mental Health Workers, Culturally Specific Community Workers.
