The Loddon Mallee Homelessness Network (LOMA) is a group of twenty one homelessness assistance agencies and programs funded under the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) and Community Housing Program (transitional housing and long-term housing) in the Loddon Mallee region. The agencies extend from Gisborne in the south up through Kyneton, Castlemaine, Maryborough, Kyabram and Bendigo to Echuca then west along the Murray River to Mildura. Some of these agencies have specific target groups such as domestic violence, youth, Indigenous people and people with a mental illness and the majority with all homeless people within a district.
LOMA provides co-ordination for many of the activities of these agencies including training, collaborative work, information sharing, policy responses, identification of common issues and development of solutions, raising the public awareness of homelessness and family violence and worker and agency support. Since the addition of the Children’s Resource Program in 2005 LOMA has had a focus on children experiencing homelessness.
If you are in the Loddon Mallee region, you can find contact details for the services in your area.
